Please join us in congratulating Mr. Breon Parker, Sr. as the permanent Windsor High School Principal!
Mr. Parker’s professional experience as an educator has spanned over 17 years. Mr. Parker began his career as a special education teacher in 2005. Mr. Parker served as a special education teacher for six years prior to becoming an assistant principal in 2011 within the Springfield, Massachusetts Public Schools.
In 2017, we welcomed Mr. Parker to the Windsor school community as an assistant principal and shortly thereafter, as a resident of Windsor as well! He and his family chose to move to Windsor, CT to become part of the Town AND School Community! During late spring 2021, Mr. Parker graciously accepted the position of Interim Windsor High School Principal in order to provide stability and continuity for our students and staff during this school year while the search process was being conducted for the next Windsor High School Principal.
Mr. Parker attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he earned his Bachelor's in Educational Studies with a minor in African American Studies; his Master's in Educational Administration with a minor in Educational Policy Research and Administration; and is currently finishing his last semester of his Doctoral Program at the University of Hartford.
Mr. Parker brings with him an even keeled temperament, matched with an acute focus on compassion, resilience, and a commitment to student growth. Mr. Parker has proven experience in building strong schools, promoting safe environments for learning, engaging families beyond the borders of the classroom, and providing leadership and assessment for continuous improvement. When Mr. Parker was asked about his goals for the future, his response was:
“My goal is to grow in this role and provide stability and the best Instructional Leadership that will position our young people to be well equipped citizens. There is a rich culture in Windsor that is deeply rooted in the families and students, and I would consider it an honor to continue to fortify these efforts. My passion and purpose in education is defined now more than ever. I look forward to continuing to lead the Windsor High School community from 2022 and beyond.”
