Windsor Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Liana K. Jorgensen as our new Chief of Academics and Pupil Services effective July 1, 2026. The Board of Education officially approved her appointment during the May 19 meeting, with seven Board members voting in Liana’s favor and one abstaining from the vote.
Prior to this appointment, Liana served as the Principal of Sage Park Middle School, a position she has held since July 2018. Liana has spent over two decades serving the students, families, and staff of Windsor Public Schools. She first joined our district in 2002 as a 5th-grade teacher at Poquonock Elementary School, eventually moving into administration as an Assistant Principal at both the elementary and middle school levels before taking the helm at Sage Park. Liana is a true Windsorite - Windsor is the community where she has chosen to live, work, and raise her family.
Ms. Jorgensen brings a strong academic foundation and specialized experience to this position. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Norfolk State University, as well as both a Master's Degree in Special Education and a Sixth-Year Degree in School Administration from the University of Connecticut.
During this transitional period, Mr. William Fisher, Jr, is appointed as the Acting Principal of Sage Park Middle School, effective July 1, 2026.
