March was a landmark month for the Windsor Board of Education, highlighted by a significant leadership transition and a busy policy agenda. The most notable development was the official appointment of a new permanent leader for Windsor Public Schools - Congratulations, Dr. Noha Abdel-Hady! Following a thorough vetting process for an internal candidate, the Board reached a unanimous decision to secure the district's future leadership. Dr. Hady’s appointment officially begins on July 1, 2026.

Superintendent Search and Interview (03/12/2026): The Board held a special meeting to interview the internal candidate for the superintendency. This session included a formal interview and detailed deliberations regarding contract negotiations to ensure a smooth transition of leadership effective July 1, 2026.
Athletic Excellence and New Student Representation (03/17/2026): During the regular monthly meeting, the Board celebrated the Windsor High School Girls Indoor Track and Field Team for winning their 10th consecutive Class L State Championship. Wow! Additionally, the Board welcomed Andrew Blume as the new Spring Student Representative.
Official Superintendent Appointment (03/17/2026): In a major step for the district, the Board formally voted to appoint Dr. Noha Abdel-Hady as the Superintendent of Windsor Public Schools. Her new role is set to officially begin on July 1, 2026.
Policy Updates and Early Entry Waivers (03/19/2026): The Policy Committee reviewed several critical updates, including a revised kindergarten admission policy. Due to new state legislation, a "transitional" waiver process was established specifically for the 2026-2027 school year for children turning five between September and December. Starting July 1, 2027, the option for any district to grant an age-based waiver will be eliminated entirely.
New Library and Parental Access Policies (03/19/2026): The committee discussed new policies regarding Library Collection Development and Parental Access to Instructional Material. These updates aim to ensure age-appropriate materials and transparency for parents and guardians.
Contract Finalization (03/31/2026): The Board closed the month with a special meeting dedicated to final executive session negotiations regarding the contract for the incoming Superintendent, Dr. Abdel-Hady.
