Hosting our Coffee Talk at Mary’s Place - a nonprofit grief center dedicated to providing support and resources to those coping with the loss of a loved one, was a meaningful experience for everybody involved. It was moving to see a space filled with tools for grief processing, to learn that Mary's Place mainly operates through the help of volunteers, and to hear from the executive director, whose words were filled with warmth and compassion. As a school district, we are honored to work alongside such a committed and caring organization. Thank you, Mary’s Place, for hosting us in your beautiful, homey space, and a special thanks to Starbucks for donating the coffee and hot chocolate for this event.
The event also gave parents the opportunity to ask questions, and our Acting Superintendent and principals were more than happy to provide answers and address any concerns. During these conversations, parents discussed safety measures that are in place in schools and told us about some students' achievements that are happening outside of schools, highlighting the wonderful work Windsor Public School students are doing in the community.
