The year is coming to an end, and WPS is ready to present the final monthly BOE recap of 2025! This month, the Board of Education held one meeting, opening a series of public forums on budget planning for the 2026-2027 school year. Every Windsor citizen is free to voice their opinion on the 2026-2027 school year budget directly to the BOE during public forums. Here are some meeting highlights!

Culinary Excellence: The Board recognized the culinary program for its creative and integrative approach to learning, participation in various competitions and challenges, and for allowing students to express themselves in a very positive and productive way. Board members and all in attendance had an opportunity to try some of the dishes prepared by the culinary program students led by Culinary Arts teacher Kathleen Taranto, the driving force behind the students’ success.

Championship Spirit: Windsor High School’s football program was celebrated for winning the state championship! This milestone was achieved through the hard work of the athletes and the mentorship of their coaching staff: Quinn Fleeting, Michael Brehon, Mark Brown, Paul Broxterman, Michael Broxterman, Walter Crain, Giovanni Daniels, Eric Martin, Perry McFadden, Teriko Roberts, Andrew Schwapp, and Ronald Woodard.

Budget & District Business: The Board conducted a second reading of budget assumptions for the next fiscal year. In January, Acting Superintendent Dr. Noha Abdel-Hady will present the proposed budget to the Board! The evening concluded with an executive session regarding a district employee separation agreement. For more details, see the attached meeting recording.
