Hello, Windsor residents!

Our town is getting ready to plan for the future of our students, and that means talking about the school budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

The budget might sound like a complicated topic, but it is important to understand it and to participate in meetings that impact budgeting decisions. As we plan how to spend the money, we consider items like new textbooks, technology, sports equipment, art programs, teacher salaries, and keeping our school buildings running smoothly. In short, budget planning is how we make sure every student in Windsor has what they need to succeed!

All meetings will be held at the L.P. Wilson Community Center Board Room (601 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT).

What Are These Meetings? Why Should You Go?

The Board of Education has scheduled five Public Forums to gather community feedback.

What is a Public Forum? Think of it as an open microphone session! The BOE wants to hear what you think about the budget plan. This is your chance to stand up, share your opinions, ask questions, or just listen to the discussion. You can speak directly to the BOE members about what is important to you and your family.

Why is it important to participate? The budget uses tax dollars, and the decisions made now will affect every student, teacher, and school in Windsor. This is your opportunity to have a direct say in how our schools are funded.

As Dr. Abdel-Hady explains, “We hope that people take advantage of these opportunities and come to express their opinions.”

Your feedback truly helps the Board make the best decisions for our community!
