School Special Education Records to Be Destroyed

In accordance with the Connecticut State Library Record Retention Policies, the Windsor

Board of Education will be destroying the confidential special education records of

students who have exited the district (graduated or reached age 22) in the 2018-2019

school year.

Confidential records include referrals to special services, PPT/IEP records, 504

Accommodation Plans, testing and evaluation documentation, correspondence with

other agencies, and all other records related to special education or special services.

Those graduates can obtain the special education records before they are destroyed by

contacting the Pupil and Special Education Services department by July 15, 2025.

Records will not be released to anyone other than the student (with proper

identification provided), unless a signed consent for release of records form is provided.
