WINDSOR, CT – May 20, 2025 – Windsor Public Schools is proud to announce the launch of its revolutionary Mobile Classroom, an innovative, state-of-the-art learning space on wheels that will provide direct academic support to students where they are—right in their neighborhoods.
Students get a sneak peek at the learning experiences coming soon to their neighborhoods aboard the Mobile Classroom!
The Mobile Classroom made its debut on May 19th during a powerful community celebration that highlighted Windsor’s commitment to equity, access, and student-centered innovation. Designed to remove barriers that often prevent students from receiving after-school academic support—such as transportation or scheduling challenges—the Mobile Classroom brings certified educators, enrichment opportunities, and tailored instruction straight to the heart of Windsor’s communities.
Dr. Abdel-Hady shares more about the Mobile Classroom’s vision and impact during the May 20th Coffee Talk with Dr. Hill.
The idea for the Mobile Classroom was sparked over a year ago by Dr. Noha Abdel-Hady, Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services, who led the design, development, and implementation of the project from start to finish.
“This Mobile Classroom is more than a bus—it’s a symbol of what’s possible when we lead with equity, act with urgency, and never lose sight of our students,” said Dr. Abdel-Hady. “As someone who has visited schools around the world through international accreditation work, I’ve always asked myself: What can I bring back to Windsor? This is my answer. We are not waiting for students to find support. We’re bringing it to them.”
Windsor Public Schools also extends heartfelt gratitude to the organizations who made this dream possible. Pixology Foundation for Peace and Development, Niagara Water, and the Windsor Health Department have generously committed donations that will support the operations of the Mobile Classroom throughout its first year. A special thanks to Pixology Foundation for sponsoring the stunning exterior design of the bus, which visually reflects the spirit of community, innovation, and hope behind this initiative.
With support from ESSER funding and a dedicated team of educators, the Mobile Classroom will offer 30-minute academic sessions led by certified staff. Students can sign up based on the scheduled neighborhood stops, which will rotate throughout the week. The classroom features flexible learning spaces, integrated technology, and a welcoming environment designed to engage and empower learners of all ages.
Dr. Terrell Hill, Superintendent of Schools, praised the initiative, saying, “This is what bold leadership and visionary thinking look like. Thanks to Dr. Abdel-Hady’s relentless commitment and passion, we’ve taken the concept of access and turned it into action. The Mobile Classroom will change lives, one stop at a time.”
Windsor students enjoy an interactive first look inside the new Mobile Classroom—where learning meets the road!
