Notification of LPW Asbestos Abatement

SUBJECT: Asbestos Abatement — LP Wilson Community Center, 601 Matianuck Avenue, Windsor, CT

This is to inform you that asbestos abatement activities will be occurring at the above referenced facility. Asbestos abatement activities are scheduled to be performed during partial occupancy of personnel <19 years of age starting on Monday, June 16, 2025, to Monday, August 25, 2025, from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Asbestos abatement entails the removal of carpet, floor tile, mastic, pipe insulation, pipe dope, ceiling tile glue, gypsum joint compound and duct work materials at the Board of Education (BOE) Offices, Rooms 9, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22B, Meeting Room 35, Contiguous Corridor and the Gym.

During this work, the Site will be partially occupied with recreational programs (e.g., theatre, karate, badminton, youth dance, fitness program, etc.) and summer fun camps. The abatement areas will be isolated from the partially occupied areas of the building by hard barriers and locked doorways. Hard barriers will be established in corridors to the abatement work areas as a secondary measure of isolation.

Please be advised that all work will be conducted within Federal and State regulations for proper asbestos abatement procedures. During this project, the asbestos abatement contractor will be monitored by an industrial hygiene firm, Fuss & O'Neill, Inc. located at 146 Hartford Road in Manchester, Connecticut (Contact Person/Project Manager; Kathleen C. Pane, (860) 783-4721).

The abatement contractor will be Haz-Pros, Inc, a State of Connecticut licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor (License #55).

This letter was prepared and is being forwarded to parents, administrators, building occupants, teachers, and staff of the LP Wilson Community Center/Windsor Public Schools prior to asbestos removal activities as required by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (CTDPH).

Please post this notice in the area of abatement. on the main entrance to the building, in staff break room, and distribute to all staff and parents.
