What. A. DAY! 🎉👏🏽
Our SPMS Career Day was a HUGE success — a day full of inspiration, possibilities, and POWERFUL messages! 💼✨ Students got to hear firsthand from professionals representing top names like ESPN 🎥, Delta Airlines ✈️, Liberty Bank 💰, The Hartford 🦅, Windsor Police & Fire Departments 🚔🚒, GoHealth Urgent Care 🏥, State of CT DCF 🛡️, CCSU Athletics 🏀🏈, and so many more!
It was extra special to have WPS alumni from Diligence Training close out the day with an incredible, interactive assembly that left our students and staff feeling empowered, motivated, and ready to take on the world! 🌎💥
Even better? Some of our very own staff and family members joined in to share their career journeys outside of WPS — proving that dreams start right here at home. ❤️🏠

This wasn’t just about fun (though it was that too!) — it was about celebrating literacy, building community, and watching students push themselves to meet their reading goals. Shoutout to the Sage Park PTO and all the educators who helped make this magic happen!
We believe deeply in the power of our Instructional Core Wheel, and we love seeing how authentic learning experiences like this one grow confident, self-aware, and joyful learners.

🌧️✨ #IssaMonday and yes… it’s giving dreary outside — but we’re keeping the spirit of spring alive and well right here in Windsor! 💐☔️ This past Thursday, we were reminded why our students are simply amazing. 🤍🎶 A Night of Jazz was a full-circle moment of collaboration, mentorship, and pure musical magic. Four incredible bands lit up the stage: 🎷 Sage Park Jazz Band 🎺 UCONN Jazz Combo: 3 on Three (featuring one of our very own Windsor alums!) 🎼 WHS Jazz Ensemble 🎵 The Hartford Sound Watching our students—especially our WHS Seniors—lead with such poise, passion, and precision was a sight to behold. 🖤✨ Their attention to detail and musical maturity left the audience in awe. None of this would’ve been possible without the visionary leadership of Mr. Monroe, our WHS Band Director. 🙌🏽 The mentorship and opportunities he’s cultivated for our students across all levels is truly something special. Thank you, Mr. Monroe, for building bridges, creating space, and nurturing the genius in every one of our musicians. 🎷👏🏽🎶 Rain or shine, we’re always growing, always glowing. 🌱 Stay dry out there, Windsor — brighter skies are just a few days away! 💛💫 🎥 Missed it? ☕️A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for an insightful and engaging March Coffee Talk with Dr. Hill. As always, the conversation was authentic, transparent, and informative—we appreciate the thoughtful questions and dialogue.
Chief of Operations Danielle Batchelder provided clarity on Cabinet’s response to the BOE’s 1% budget reduction request. With limited options, the difficult decision was made to phase out full day Pre-K, a program that was originally funded by a grant that is no longer fully supported. While this was not an easy choice, it allowed the district to honor Dr. Hill’s commitment to protecting jobs and keeping class sizes small—both of which remain top priorities.
We recognize that changes like this impact families, and we remain committed to supporting all of our students through this transition. Thank you for being part of the conversation and for your continued engagement. We look forward to our April 23rd Coffee Talk with Dr. Hill! 🫶🏽
