Today, they put their engineering skills to the test, building towers with cups, mini Jenga, and cards. The challenge? At WPS, we PD different. 💡 Another inspiring #WindsorNation PD under the leadership of our North Star Navigator, Dr. Noha Abdel Hady, centered on Student Voice. From the award-winning WHS Gospel Choir to insights from Dr. Hill’s Student Advisory Council, our students showed up and spoke powerfully. We also saw our #LeadLearners, AKA building principals, take center stage, leading powerful PD sessions. 🗣️ #weareWINdsor 👐🏽

📢 BOE Recap: Last night, the Finance Committee, led by Chair Leonard Lockhart, wrapped up its 2nd Special Meeting/Public Forum. 💡 Dr. Hill clarified a clerical error, lowering the proposed budget increase to 6.88% (down from 7.55%) thanks to a tech reevaluation, reducing costs from $1.8M to $1.3M. 🖥️ Dr. Hady presented on Technology & Instructional Services, highlighting her strategic focus on reducing frivolous spending by keeping only essential software that truly benefits students and teachers. For instructional services, she emphasized sticking to Dr. Hill’s focus on academics and culture—steering clear of fleeting buzzwords and trends in education. 📚 Dr. Hady emphasized that Instructional Services Budget increases stem primarily from the new state reading mandate, which required the district to purchase “Bookworms” and “DIBELS.” #weareWINdsor 👐🏽

Hello SPMS Families, Tomorrow, there is a weather alert and wind advisory due to cold temperatures. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately, especially if they need to wait at the bus stop. For families dropping off students, please remember that the building opens at 7:45 AM. Similar to last week, on First Alert weather days, as announced by WFSB, we make arrangements for students to enter the building early. Since tomorrow is a First Alert day, these arrangements will be in place. For the remainder of the week, please continue to ensure students are dressed warmly to stay comfortable in the cold weather. Good Afternoon, Please remind your children to fully charge their Chromebooks and bring their charging cords for the i-Ready English Language Arts assessment. Testing will begin promptly at 8:15 AM. Students arriving between 8:15 AM and 10:30 AM will wait in the cafeteria until the testing block is complete. Testing for English Language Arts will continue on Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, students will take the Math i-Ready assessment. Chromebooks are required for all four days of testing. Thank you for your cooperation!
