Dear Families,

Mr. Steven Carvalho, Director of Pupil and Special Education Services, will be leaving Windsor Public Schools after 8 years of dedicated service on August 10th for a new position.  Mr. Carvalho will become the Special Education Supervisor for the Region 7 School District.  Steven will be greatly missed for his incredible knowledge base and strong commitment to ensuring that all students receive the support they need.

I am pleased to announce that Barbara Trinks has agreed to serve as Interim Director of Pupil and Special Education Services.  Ms. Trinks recently retired from the Plymouth School district as Pupil Services Director.  Prior to that time she served as Pupil Services Director in Coventry.  Many of you will remember Ms. Trinks for her time in Windsor as Secondary Special Education Supervisor.  Her experience as a Director and her experience in Windsor make her uniquely qualified for this interim position.  We are very fortunate to have her join us during these difficult times.

Windsor Public Schools will begin a search process for the next Director of Pupil and Special Education Services in the early fall with the goal of having a new Director appointed by the Board of Education in November.

 Sincerely,

Craig A. Cooke, Ph.D.

Superintendent
