Welcome to the wonderful world of the Wolcott Wallaroos!! The Roger Wolcott Early Childhood Center opened in
September, 1996 and currently is the happy home of all
of Windsor’s kindergarten children as well as several
preschool classes. During the 2006-2007 school year,
approximately three hundred three, four, and
five-year-olds brightened our hallways each day!
Visitors to our Early Childhood Center find a
stimulating, fun-filled learning environment which has
been developed to address the unique needs of young
children. By establishing a school in which all
students are six years of age and younger, we have been
able to focus all aspects of our program on the
academic, social, and emotional needs of young children
and to create an atmosphere that is child-centered,
safe, and nurturing.
Since
our opening,
we have worked diligently at Wolcott to develop a
program that stresses early literacy, character
development, and effective communication with our
families. We are especially proud of our early literacy
program, which serves as a model for other early
childhood programs, and of our school/family/community
partnership initiatives. Our efforts to promote student
achievement are far more powerful when families join
with us to support continued learning at home!
We
encourage parents, community members, and, most
especially future Wolcott Wallaroos, to visit us at any
time! Visitors and volunteers are always welcome
additions to our world of laughter and learning. Please browse through our website for current
information about our program, but we also hope that you
will have the opportunity to experience first hand the
excitement and love of learning we have at Roger
Wolcott!
