The Sage Park counselors are dedicated to providing services that assist students in reaching their maximum academic and personal potential. We help students understand themselves and others, increase their awareness of the world they live in, and develop decision making skills that will enable them to make responsible choices.

At Sage Park Middle School, there is a school counselor for each grade. The counselor assigned to students in grade 6 will also work with the same students in grades 7 and 8. School counselors can help students handle almost any problem that could get in the way of learning, guide them toward future goals, and help create a positive environment for everyone at school.

Counselors know how to listen and can help students with life's challenges. Counselors have special training in how to help students solve problems, make decisions, and stand up for themselves. That doesn't mean a counselor will solve the problem, but it does mean he or she will help students cope with it. Coping is an important word. Sometimes, students and adults have difficult problems. Coping means that someone is trying to handle these problems and make things better.
