Writing Tips

These writing tips will help a fledgling writer in almost any situation. Some of the tips are obvious such as to mind you grammar, others are not quite so clear to some.

My first tip is to never be afraid to give your writing to a friend and  let them look it over. This allows you to have the opinion of multiple  people and to have a better finished piece.  Also this prepares you for later life when you will be criticized very often by peers, and superiors.

Next, do not be afraid to rewrite something that seems perfectly fine. This is like practicing the most basic drill for a sport. It seems useless but over time gives your game a very good look and you can out do the most experienced of players.

This tip is perhaps the most important. To not expect a perfect piece of writing the first time you write. Then when you don’t you will not get angry and give up.  If you do that you will never be satisfied and after the first attempt give up and get a job you do not want. That is not fun.

If you do ever finish the book you are writing and go to a publisher expect to be turned down. If you are then keep trying, eventually you will get lucky and someone will like your story. After that you may well become famous. If that happens keep writing and have a great time.
