Coach Beth Littlefield is one of seven children adopted by Debra and Richard Littlefield in Stonington, CT. Beth was lucky enough to have parents that made sure education was first for all of their children, but also supported their children’s extracurricular activities. Her parents set through many very cold, or very hot, very long track and cross country meets.
Coach Littlefield started running in 1997 at Ledyard High School. Though she had never run before, she quickly found her strengths and became a varsity member of the high schools cross country, indoor, and outdoor track teams for all four years of high school. She also became a captain for all three teams her senior year. Some of her very best friends were made from running cross country and track, and if it wasn't for running, her grades would not have been as high, and she may have never made the choice to go to college.
Coach went on to run for Eastern Connecticut State University, where she became a varsity member of all three running teams her freshman year. She majored in Health and Physical Education, where she received national awards for her studies and made the Dean's List six times. Coach was also named Captain of the teams her Junior year of college. During her time at ECSU she qualified for many regional and national meets, and broke records for the school in the 300m, the 400m, the 500m, the 600m, the 4x400m, the sprint medley, and the distance medley. She is currently attending Central Connecticut State University for her Masters in Educational Leadership.
She started coaching at Sage Park Middle School in 2001.
