August/ Early September
This month students will be getting used to the rules and routines of the 6th grade language arts class. Currently, we are going over vocabulary, bell work, and creating our writer's workshop notebooks. This notebook stays in the class at all times.
In the next 2 weeks, students will be learning all the rules and their expected roles on behavior and procedures for the writer's workshop. During the introduction of writers workshop students will complete their "Writing Territories" and "Questions for Memoirists". These lists are questions to guide students in writing down ideas, memories, topics of interest, and many other possible writing topics to be used for writing a memoir and other projects this year.
