Welcome – Parents and Students.
Students in my Reading classes should be prepared with these items: · Pencil and pen · Composition book for Reading reflection · A folder or section of their notebooks to store Reading handouts or information.
Homework Reading homework consists of 30 minutes of nightly reading, 4 nights per week. Students will write a short summary of their reading and must have a parent signature each night, to receive credit. They will accumulate 5 points a night for signed reading logs, and not more than 20 points per week, signifying a grade of A+.
I incorporate technology into my Reading curriculum. Students will often type up final drafts of written work or projects in the computer lab using Word or Power Point.
· The list above does not include all of the curriculum based instruction that will be taught during the year.
Parents: Please check your student’s agenda weekly. Students should be writing down all homework assignments there. In the agenda I will stamp the dates that homework was not received.
Please encourage your children to read at home and remember to sign your student’s reading homework sheet. |
