Sage Park Team 2 Grade 6 Social Studies |

In Grade 6 our focus is on Geography and the study of World Cultures. During the year, students will study the 7 continents and learn to use maps. With exposure to the customs of other cultures, they will develop other perspectives, and learn to appreciate the importance of each individual, as well as their own historical and ethnic heritage.. The 5 Themes of Geography introduce students to region, location, place, relationships within places, and movement.
Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of a variety of cultures reflecting that particular culture’s art/architecture, literature, language, food, history, music, religion, traditions, holidays and festivals, clothing, sports and leisure, education and government. They will be asked to do this through a variety of mediums such as music, poetry, models, dioramas, posters, flags, sewing, cooking, sculpture, drawing or collages. |
