1. Develop materials to use throughout the year on
targeted CMT Strands in each grade level:
Computation with whole numbers and decimals in
grade 6.
Algebraic concepts in grade 7.
Classification and Logical Reasoning in grade 8.
2. Create and administer a pretest on grade level
target concepts.

Collect and analyze data to determine curriculum and
instructional needs based on the pretest.
4. Reassess targeted concepts every 6 to 8 weeks and
analyze data.
5. Department members will engage in collaborative
grade level discussions to develop intervention
strategies for students who have not mastered the
targeted areas.
6. Continually use the data to refine curriculum and
instruction.
7.
Provide professional development for regular and
special education teachers and tutors.

Collaborate to analyze student results on common
midyear and end of year assessments.
9. Use the results of the assessment data to refocus
instruction and provide remediation for student’s
identified areas of weakness.
10.
Use lunch time and after school tutoring to provide
remediation for students.
11. Grade level/ Department members will engage in
collaborative discussion groups to identify areas of
their content where mathematical concepts and
problem solving strategies can be infused into the
curriculum.
