John F. Kennedy School

Programs

Students perform academically when instructed in an environment that is safe and supported by students and staff who care. At Kennedy School we encourage students to “get caught” in random acts of kindness toward others. Throughout the year we organize student and adult led community service projects including the diabetes walk, penny drives, the collection of toiletries and/or other clothing items to promote awareness of the larger community around us.

The staff and community work together closely to promote a school culture where effort and achievement are commonplace. We actively celebrate successes within our own walls. Each month we gather in the auditorium to honor students for embodying academic excellence and good character.

Our PTO provides many enrichment activities for students such as Artists–in-Residence, which provides students the opportunity to interact with a well-known artist, and Read-a-Mania, a reading incentive program that encourages students to read at home. Annually we invite families to join us for fun reading and math activities. In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, Read Across America Day begins was breakfast and a new book for every child who attends JFK.
