March 8, 2001 - A call for global participants will go out on the Internet.
April 2-6 - Grade level meetings should be held to discuss project.
April 9-12
- Send letter to families
- Review lessons on latitude, longitude and elapsed time
- Thursday, April 12 - Registration closes for global participants
April 13-20 - Spring Break for Windsor, CT students
April 23-27 - Project begins
- Introduce project to students
- Information on global participants will be posted on Windsor's web server www.windsorct.org/icecube
- Students plot global locations of participants
April 30-May 4
- Monday , April 30 - 9am - Freeze ice cube
- Tuesday, May 1 - Conduct experiment and begin Student Booklet
- Thursday, May 3 - All data submitted to dphelon@windsorct.org for posting to website
- Friday, May 4 - Students begin downloading data from website and entering on
spreadsheet
May 7-11
- Monday, May 7 - Students complete work on spreadsheet
- Analyze data and draw conclusions
- Complete experiment booklet
- Complete self-reflections
May 14 - Begin Optional Activities
May 16 - Thank you messages sent out to global participants.
