GRADE 1

First grade students look forward to learning about some special subjects each year.  Among their favorites are the authors Ezra Jack Keats and H.R. and Margret Rey, the creators  of Curious George. Grade one also enjoys learning about holidays around the world.  They especially enjoy the annual Chinese New Year celebration!

In the Library Media Center, first grade students begin to learn their way around the book collection and about differences between the many types of fiction and nonfiction.  We review the importance of appropriate book care and how to be a good library user.  Students in first grade may check out one book per week.
