Academic
Standards in Reading, Writing and Mathematics
Goal: All Oliver Ellsworth Students will acquire and
demonstrate core knowledge and essential skills in
reading, writing, and mathematics that emphasize
understanding, application and communication. Students
will demonstrate thinking and reasoning skills.
Student Assessment and Adult
Accountability
Goal: Strategic planning at Oliver Ellsworth School will
depend upon a comprehensive, authentic assessment program
focusing on student performance, community goal setting
and assessment.

Parent and Community Engagement
Goal: The Ellsworth School Community will promote
community-school-family partnerships that will increase
parental and volunteer public engagement in promoting the
social, emotional, and academic growth of all children.

Character Education
Goal: Oliver Ellsworth will adopt, implement and
continuously assess performance of a school wide Character
Education program. The entire school community will
understand, respect, and act in accordance with the 12
identified qualities of our Schooling For Community
Success program.

Technology Support
Goal: Ellsworth students will successfully use technology
to achieve curriculum objectives and will also develop the
skills needed to use these new resources effectively.
Technology will be used for productivity, expression,
information access and processing and critical analysis
and problem solving. Technology will be integrated
throughout the curriculum and will also be used for
management tasks and other professional endeavors.

Professional Teacher and Staff
Development
Goal: Oliver Ellsworth school will adopt staff training
programs that will focus on math, reading and writing
skills for student enrichment by utilizing the latest
research-based intervention strategies and programs.
