PROGRAM INFORMATION


APPLICATIONS:

May be returned to the Coordinator of Continuing Education at LP Wilson, 601 Matianuck Avenue in person or by mail. Mail-in registration deadline is June 20, 2008. Early registration helps insure spaces and facilitates planning and hiring of staff. Last minute registrations may be made in person on June 24, 25, 26 (All Enrichment and Middle School Programs) or July 1, 2, 3 (All Enrichment and High School Programs) at LP Wilson Community Center Room 32 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. A $10.00 per course late fee will be charged starting the first day of class. Questions may be directed to William Haberman, Coordinator of Continuing Education at 687-2000, ext. 267. All summer school offices will be closed July 4th.


FEES:

Tuition is due upon registration.  Some limited scholarships based on need (school free or reduced lunch program/residents only – 25% reduction) are available. Enrichment programs are not included.  Non-residents pay an additional $25.00. A $10.00 late fee per course will be charged starting the first day of each program.


TUITION REFUNDS:

A full refund is available only if notice of withdrawal is given prior to the first class session.


TRANSPORTATION:

Responsibility of the student.


ATTENDANCE/DISMISSAL:

In a 16 to 20 day summer session, perfect attendance, punctuality, and behavior are expected. Students, who are disruptive, insubordinate or evidence little interest in learning, may be dismissed without refund of tuition. Absence and/or tardiness may result in loss of credit. Smoking is NOT permitted on school grounds and will result in disciplinary action, including dismissal. Maximum absences allowable for credit eligibility are two. Three tardies equal one absence.


CLASS CANCELLATION:

The Summer School Administration reserves the right to cancel courses in the event a teacher is not available or enrollment is not sufficient to support the class.


CONFIRMATION:

No confirmation notice will be sent. Assume the class will run as scheduled unless notified to the contrary.


CLASS TIMES:

Some programs will be organized by session – 8:00am-11:00am and 11:30am-2:30pm. Other programs may be 8:00am-1:00pm, 9:00am-11:30am or individually scheduled by instructors as noted.


CALENDAR:

Most summer programs will run during the month of July.  Classes will meet Monday through Friday. Some programs have different calendars as noted.  See calendar.
