The volunteer committee that coordinates the “Windsor High School Project Graduation Golf Tournament” today announced that it has been moved to a new date. Golf enthusiasts and supporters of Windsor students should sign up now to play in the sixth annual event on Friday, May 30 at Keney Golf Course in Hartford. The event begins with a 3 p.m. Shotgun start, followed by 9-holes of golf in a Scramble format. A full-course dinner featuring prizes and raffles will follow at the course.

“We scheduled the start of 9-holes of play at 3 p.m. for the convenience of many business people and town teachers,” explains Bob Gallant, a Golf Tournament organizer. “We hope that as many people as possible will join us for a wonderful event that benefits Windsor High School graduates.”

Registration for golfers is only $60, which includes a round of golf, golf cart and dinner. Non-golfers are welcome to join the players for the 6 p.m. dinner for $25. Individuals or businesses can become Hole Sponsors for just $50, which includes a Personalized Flag on the Green.

If tournament play is cancelled due to inclement weather, the 6 p.m. dinner still will be held that night and each player will be presented with a voucher for a free round of golf.

To register to play as an individual or a foursome in the Friday, May 30 golf tournament, reserve a seat at the dinner, buy a hole sponsorship, or donate a raffle prize for the dinner, call Bob Gallant at (860) 683-2031 or Paul Hansen at (860) 219-0366.

Proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the Windsor High School’s “Project Graduation” party which takes place just hours after the June graduation ceremony. The safe alcohol- and drug-free party is organized by parents, businesses and many other community volunteers. The party will feature music, games and other activities from early evening through just after dawn. Money from the golf tournament and other fundraisers will help pay for entertainment, games, refreshments, decorations and prizes for the graduates.

General information about Windsor High School’s Project Graduation is available by calling Event Chair Rosemary Gallant at (860) 683-2031. If you wish to make a donation toward the party, send checks made payable to: Windsor High School Project Graduation, and mail them to:Windsor High School Project Graduation, 50 Sage Park Rd., Windsor, CT  06095.
